Dorothy M. Boerner

Dorothy M. Boerner Our beloved, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Florence, from natural causes at the age of 86. Dorothy was born on January 6, 1929 in Iron Mountain. She was the daughter of the late Matthew and Elizabeth (Stoffel) Carrigg and has been a lifelong resident of this area. Dorothy graduated from Iron Mountain High School and was the Valedictorian of the class of 1947. She married Jacob Boerner on January 22, 1949 at St. Mary and St. Joseph Church in Iron Mountain. Jake and Dorothy raised their family and lived over fifty years in Quinnesec. Jacob preceded her in death on August 23, 2006. Through the years, she worked for Dr. Logic as a secretary and also worked at the Thomas Theater Company as an executive secretary. She was an active member of St. Mary's Church in Quinnesec for many years and enjoyed traveling, reading and feeding anyone who came by for a visit. Dorothy was a kind hearted and gentle spirited person, who loved and cared about everybody. She was always there for her friends and family when needed. We loved her with all our hearts and are left with many warm memories of card playing, good food and laughter. We will forever miss her, but we find peace in knowing she has been welcomed home and comforted by her divine Creator. Dorothy is survived by children, Cheryl (Larry) Bero of Green Bay, WI, Nancy (Alan) Powers of Kingsford and Jack (Ellen) Boerner of Little Chute, WI; two grandchildren, Brenda (Don) Holman of Midland, MI and Aaron (Penny) Dinco of New Hampshire; two great grandchildren, Elena Shae Holman and Alexander Dinco. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother, Wilbert Carrigg and sister, Frances Stanford. Visitation will be from 10:00am-11:00am Tuesday, December 22, at St. Mary and St. Joseph Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am at the church. Father Janusz Romanek will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
