Donna Good

Donna D. Good, 80, of Iron Mountain, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara, Wis. She was born March 18, 1931, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of the late George and Matilda (Lutter) Wood. Donna graduated from Sheldon High School in Sheldon, Iowa. She attended Ames Iowa College and graduated as a lab and X-ray technician, working in Minneapolis for several years. She married Donald L. Good on May 9, 1954, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She and her husband moved to Iron Mountain in 1965. Donna worked as bookkeeper for Frankini Jewelers for 22 years. Donald preceded her in death in 1986. Donna was a very active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and sang in the choir and participated in crafts. She was past worthy adviser of the Rainbow Girls and past president of Iron Mountain Lady Lions. Donna loved golfing at Oak Crest and Pine Grove Country Club. She was an avid bowler and earned National Honor counts three times. She also played duplicate bridge for many years. She is survived by her children, Sandra (Peter) Peroceschi of Norway and their children, Nicolas and Dana; Curtis (Judy) Good of Holland, Mich. and their children, Stephanie and John; Linda (Said) Abdelmagead of New Port News, Va., and their children, Sara and Yusf; and Stacey (Chad) Kay of Norway, and their children, Alan, Kassandra, and Sarah; one brother, Donald (Marilyn) Wood of Chicago; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; one son, Gary; two brothers, John Wood and George Wood Jr.; and one sister, Marjorie Robertson. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the church. Rev. Paul Mallory will officiate. Burial will be in Dickinson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church. Condolences may be expressed to the family of Donna D.
