Dianna M. Zahorik

Dianna M. (Schabel) Zahorik, 68, Aurora, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015, at Iron County Medical Care Facility. She was born July 1, 1946, in Iron Mountain, MI., daughter of the late Maynard and Leona (Liddell) Schabel. Dianna grew up in Aurora and attended school there. She married Dwaine Zahorik, December 7, 1963, in Iron Mountain. After their marriage they resided in Two Rivers. Dianna worked for Hamilton Manufacturing Company in Two Rivers. She along with her family moved to Aurora in 1973. While living in Aurora, Dianna was able to be a stay at home mom. Her family was very important to her and she was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning, flowers, crafts, knitting and spending time with her family. Dianna had a heart of gold. She was kind to everyone she met and was always putting others first. Her caring spirit, thoughtfulness and love will truly be missed. She is survived by one son, Scott (Margo Wisniewski) Zahorik, Aurora; two daughters, Carlene Zahorik, Homestead, Wis., Kristina (Thomas) Williams, Florence, Wis.; one son-in-law, Lyle (Barb) Merrill, Channing, Mich.; one brother, Willard Schabel, Aurora; two sisters, Sharon (Joe) Lison, WY., Clarie Moser, MD. six grandchildren, Seth (Dannielle Poston) Merrill, Beth Hedmark, Jacob Hedmark, Kati Merrill, Rebecca Hedmark and Gabriel Williams; three great-grandchildren, Eris, Julian and Matthew; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Dianna was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Dwaine Zahorik on December 18, 2013, one daughter, Carrie Merrill; three brothers, Bruce, James and Kenneth Schabel and one sister, Evelyn Schabel one granddaughter, Zoey Williams. Visitation will be Saturday, April 11, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Erickson Rochon & Nash Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home Rev. James Danielson will officiate.
