David A. Furno

David A. Furno, 37, of Iron Mountain, passed away unexpectedly at home on October 19, 2022, after a long battle with mental illness. David was born in Iron Mountain, MI, on September 9, 1985, to Debra and Michael Furno. David graduated from Iron Mountain High School on May 28, 2004. After graduation he attended college for a year and went on to work for M. J. Electric for over 14 years. He enjoyed working for M. J. Electric because it is known as a very family-oriented company. He worked in the vehicle department and was lovingly known as “Turbo.” David enjoyed being with his friends and said he’d be up for anything – mountain biking, fishing, camping, kayaking and road trips. David enjoyed going to camp with his dad and brothers, hunting and off-roading with his side by side. He also loved going snowboarding with his brother. He thoroughly enjoyed shooting his bow as he had a good eye for it. David’s favorite pastime was on-line gaming as he was good at it according to opponents. David will be greatly missed by his family and friends. David is survived by his loving parents, Debbie and Mike Furno of Iron Mountain; paternal grandmother, Patricia Furno of Iron Mountain; and his two brothers, Domenic "Nick" Furno (Brooke Bodart) of Commerce City, CO, and Dustin Furno of Firestone, CO. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. David was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, David and Alberta Mattson, and his paternal grandfather, Donald J. Furno. There will be a Celebration of Life for David on Friday, October 28 at noon at the First Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain, MI officiated by Pastor Bryan Laurila. Luncheon to follow in Luther Hall.
