Coreen Estrella Moreno Sparks

Coreen Estrella “Bless” Moreno Sparks, 10, of Kingsford passed away Monday, April 13, 2020, at the Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. Coreen was one of two children of Brent Sparks and Marcela Moreno. Coreen loved reading, writing, drawing, going for walks and bike rides, playing Xbox with her little brother, and talking with her many friends. She enjoyed practicing Taekwondo, cheerleading, fishing, camping, swimming, taking selfies with her mom, and playing games like UNO, SORRY, LIFE, and BINGO with her family and friends. Coreen was an active member of Girl Scouts and was the honorary “Big Sister” of her brother Lucas’ Cub Scout pack. In her ten short years she lived an exciting life with her parents and brother in the Philippines, China, and the United States. She was the happiest, most beautiful girl in the world and her constant smile impacted everyone that met her. Coreen is survived by her parents, Brent Sparks and Marcela Moreno and her brother, Lucas Sparks of Kingsford, MI; grandma and great-grandma Trudy and Juanita Sparks of Niagara, WI; uncle Ethan and auntie Amber (Sparks) and cousin Noah Miller of Norway, MI; grandparents “Nanay” Imelda (Dawisan) and “Tatay” Roberto Moreno; great-grandmother “Lola” Maria Dawisan; uncles Francis, Exequiel, and Erro Carlo Moreno; auntie Cristene Moreno; auntie Michelle Moreno and uncle Geofrey Macabenta and cousins Avril Vienna Moreno, Goem Emmanual Macabenta and Givreal Chim Macabenta, all of Palawan, Philippines; uncle Carlos Montero Jimenez and auntie Morena Moreno and cousins Hugo Jorge and Helen Montero Moreno of Singapore; uncle Ralph and auntie Madonna (Moreno) and cousin Kate Verploegen of The Netherlands; and many other great-aunts and uncles and cousins across the US and Philippines. She is preceded in death by her great-grandpa Robert E. Sparks of Niagara, WI; great-grandpa Arturo Dawisan and great-grandparents Esmerando and Raquel Moreno, all of Palawan, Philippines. Coreen is an organ donor and as such will continue to impact the world in a positive way. A Memorial Ceremony will be held sometime in the future in both Kingsford, MI and El Nido, Palawan, Philippines. Further information will be announced when available.
