Clarence W. Lindeman

Clarence W. Lindeman 89, of Niagara, passed away on April 24, 2017 at Maryhill Manor in Niagara. Clarence was born June 29, 1927 in Norway, MI, son of the late Arthur and Catherine (Zaharek) Lindeman. Clarence attended Norway Schools and entered the United States Navy in 1945. He served aboard the USS Piedmont during the end of WWII in the American occupation of Japan. Clarence was honorably discharged in 1949. After returning home from his service, Clarence married Dorothy Hover on May 6, 1950 in Iron Mountain. They raised their family together in Niagara and would have celebrated sixty seven years of marriage this year. Clarence worked over 43 years for Niagara of Wisconsin (NOW) paper company. He retired in 1987 as a maintenance supervisor. Clarence was also a certified welding instructor and taught welding for Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) in the evenings for many years. He was a talented handyman and had a special knack for machine repair. Clarence also loved to work on cars and help his family with building projects and home construction. His greatest love was time spent with his children and grandchildren. Clarence was preceded in death by his brother, John Lindeman and an infant grand daughter. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Gary (Jarucha) Lindeman of Stoughton, WI and Sherry (Kurt) Larson of Spread Eagle, WI; grandchildren, Tara Riley of Green Bay, WI, Mara (Michael) Patterson of Madison, WI, Jessica (Paul) Greer of Blaine, MN, and Emmy Tran of Stoughton, WI; great grandchildren, Kaden and Adalyn Greer and Aurora Patterson; also by a special daughter in law, Carol Lindeman of Madison, WI. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 28th from 11:00am-12:30pm at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12:30 at the funeral home on Friday. Father Matthew Settle will officiate. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Stephen Leonard, the Iron Mountain VA Hospital, Arms of Angels and most of all Maryhill Manor for the loving care they gave to Clarence at the end of his life.
