Charlene "Char" Rahoi

Charlene "Char" Rahoi, 77, of Iron Mountain, died peacefully in the comfort of her family on Monday May 23, 2016 at the Dickinson Memorial Hospital. She was born June 5, 1938 in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Carl and Verna (Hedlund) Wedin. Char was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain and graduated from Kingsford High School in 1956. She married the love of her life and partner for 58 years Richard "Cussy" Rahoi on June 15, 1957. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2016. Char raised her three children and then later worked for Dr. Robert Baker as an Office Assistant for over 18 years. She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran church, the Lady Elks, the Dickinson Memorial Hospital League and Pine Grove Country Club. Char was also a member of the Iron Mountain-Kingsford Women's Club and a former member of the Iron Mountain/Kingsford Jaycettes. Char had a kind heart and was very compassionate towards everyone she knew. She never had anything bad to say. She had a special gift that we all enjoyed over the years, her passion for good ‘ol home cooking. She would go out of her way to cook meals for family and friends. Char made holidays and birthdays special for all by preparing their favorite meal followed by an over the top dessert. Char is survived by her three children, Allan (Karen) Rahoi of Upper Pine Creek, Robert (Ann) Rahoi of Duncansville, PA and Linda (Kevin) Baudhuin of Glenview, IL. In addition, she had a very special place in her heart for her seven grandchildren that she took pride in, Erika, David, Whitney, Patrick, Jack, Jennifer and Jessica. Charlene is also survived by her brothers, Robert "Butch" (Beth) Wedin of Kingsford, Jack (Kaye) Wedin of Breitung Twp.; several nieces and nephews and her dearest day to day companion Daisy. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the church. Rev. Robert Gordon will officiate. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.
