Carl Wood Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Carl Wood SAGOLA - Carl V. Wood, 50, of Sagola, died Saturday, April 3, 2004, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain. He was born April 12, 1953, in Jackson, lower Michigan, son of the late John and June (Stimer) Wood. Carl was a 1972 graduate of Norway High School. He married the former Sandra Helberg on Dec. 31, 1982, in Iron Mountain. Carl had worked for Wally's Auto Salvage for the past 12 years. He loved his dog Tuffy. He enjoyed working on cars, especially restoring his antique cars. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; two daughters, Jessica and Tiffany Wood of Sagola; a stepdaughter, Kristen Allen of Iron Mountain; a sister, Patricia; a grandson, Tyler Treiber; two step-grandchildren, Izzak Allen and William Thomas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gregory (Shirley) Todish of Gwinn, Stanley Helberg of Iron Mountain, Judy Helberg of Iron Mountain, Jeffrey (Laurie) Helberg of Kingsford and Robert Helberg of Iron Mountain; and his close friends, Allen Oakes and Rod "Rat" Massa. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in the Channing Cemetery.
