Betty Jean Weber

Betty J. Weber, of Aurora, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford with her family by her side. She was born on Aug. 10, 1928, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Paquette) LaLonde. Betty graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1946. She worked as a secretary for Clairmont Transfer and was the Aurora Township Treasurer for many years. Betty was very devoted to her family. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Betty enjoyed treating her family to wonderful home cooking and baking. She also enjoyed flower gardening, canning, reading, knitting, and crocheting. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. She married Edward Weber on Sept. 4, 1948, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2008. Edward preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2008. She is survived by four children, Rod Weber of Appleton, Wis., Michael (Marcia) Weber of Aurora, Jeanine (Brian) Brouillette of Iron Mountain, and Karen (Dennis) Podnar of Spread Eagle, Wis.; nine grandchildren, Kaitlyn (fianc Erik VandenHeiden) Weber, Kraig Weber, John Weber, Sara (Dan) Davis, Mike (Annie) Ghere, Brianne Brouillette, Matthew Brouillette, Jessica (Robert) Nejedlo, and Danielle (Jason) Prudhomme; three great-grandchildren, Bryce and Ethan Davis, and Lauren Ghere; four sisters-in-law, Catherine LaLonde, Margaret (Ronald) Olson, Gerri Weber, and Deloris Weber; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard and Albert LaLonde; three sisters, Doris Kenney, Louise Kipp, and Irene Lindstrom; three brothers-in-law George and Robert Weber and James Brown; and one sister-in-law, Janet Lucas. Visitation will be Monday from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aurora. Funeral services will be Monday at 4 p.m. at the church. Fr. Matthew Settle will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora Cemetery, alongside her husband. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Mike Ghere, Kraig Weber, Matthew Brouillette, John Weber, Dan Davis, and Erik VandenHeiden.
