Betty L. Domenget

Betty L. Domenget 91, of Kingsford,passed away on May 1, 2015 surrounded by her daughters. Betty was born on April 27, 1924 in Marquette, daughter of the late Albert and Sarah (Beauchamp) LaRoux. Her family moved to Iron Mountain when she was three years old. Betty graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1942. She married Howard Jones in 1942. She then married Wesley F. Domenget in 1980. Betty was well remembered for her years of service at the Riverside Supper Club in Spread Eagle, WI, and the Dickinson Hotel in Iron Mountain. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church. Betty was a kind and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was so proud of her family and enjoyed the time she spent with them during holidays and special family celebrations. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and extended family. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Don Jones; brothers, Arthur (Dorothy) LaRoux, Harold (Dee) LaRoux, Vern LaRoux and Joseph LaRoux; sisters, Delores (Joe) Mercier and Agnes LaRoux; son in law, Michael Safranek and grandsons, Mark Safranek and Daniel Holmberg. She is survived by her children, Sharon Safranek of Davenport, Iowa, Penny (Delore) Holmberg of Florence, WI and Kathleen (Louis) DePas of Iron Mountain. Grandchildren, David (Debbie) Holmberg, Darren Holmberg, Sherry (Robert) Safranek-Ault, Julie (Brian) Safranek, Kelly (Don) Mulholand, Jason (Kendra) Bath, Kristin (Kevin) Jones, Jessica Jones and Derrick (Kari) Jones; great grandchildren, Jennifer Holmberg, Michael Holmberg, Christopher Holmberg, Haley Holmberg, Kyle Holmberg, Jacob Mulholand, Sydney Mulholand, Olivia Bath, Carter Bath, Benjamin Nicholson, Gracie Jones, Rylie Jones, Bailey Loukinen and Ethan Loukinen; great great grandchildren, Anthony, Kennedy and Lincoln; a sister, Jean Chartier and a very special daughter in law, Marilu (Joe) Floriano. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5th from 10:00-11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford. Memorial services will follow at 11:00am on June 5th at the church. Rev. Michael March will officiate. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
