Angelo Romitti

NIAGARA, Wis. - On Wednesday, June 17, 2009, Angelo Raymond Romitti entered eternal life and peace in the loving arms of His Heavenly Father. Angelo was born on Dec. 19, 1988, and was 20 years old at the time of his death. His passing is greatly grieved and he will be missed very much by all who loved him. Angelo loved being outdoors, especially in the winter time and one of the things he enjoyed most was snowboarding with his brother Mario. One of his fondest memories was of the good time he had visiting his brother in Alaska with his mother. Angelo loved going off by himself to fish and thought the world of his dogs. He had many a good time riding four wheelers and doing tricks on his dirt bike. For several years he played the guitar, which he was good at and also did write one special song. Angelo really cared about children and was always good to the little kids. He enjoyed watching them play and would often ask what was going on in their lives. Angelo had a smile that could light up the whole day. His smile touched the people he worked with and also the customers he took care of as he loaded their truck or trailer. His skills as a heavy equipment operator were well beyond his age and he was at peace when he was in his loader. He had a big heart and talked about wanting to help people who were alone. It was one of his biggest prayers and hope that somehow those who suffered from mental illness could get the help they needed. It took great courage and strength on a daily basis for him to figure out and accomplish everyday normal tasks. Every day was like climbing a mountain, a struggle without the tools or knowledge of a mountain climber. Through Angelo's passing, it is our hope others can become more aware of the severe impact mental illness can have. He was so loved by his family and he will be so missed, but we firmly believe he has finally reached the top of the mountain. With that big bright smile and arms open wide he will be waiting for all his loved ones when we are called home too. He is survived by his mother, Lori Schultz; his father, Kevin Romitti; one brother, Mario (Darlene) Romitti; maternal grandparents, Ray and Doreen (Vigo) Schultz; paternal grandmother, Janine (Farrington) Romitti; paternal grandfather, Peter Romitti; maternal aunts and uncles, Mark (Carol) Schultz and Craig (Chris) Schultz; paternal aunts and uncles, Jeremy Romitti and Barry (Mary) Romitti; maternal great-aunts and great-uncles, Donna (Carl) Plonke, Eva Vigo and Floyd (Gail) Schultz; maternal great-aunts and great-uncles, Francis Schultz; maternal cousins, Brandon Schultz, Dominic (Danielle) Schultz, Chad Schultz, Stephan (Catie) Schultz, Tyler Schultz, Danielle Schultz and paternal cousins, Josh Romitti, Niko Romitti and Bruce (Terri) Romitti. He was preceded in death by an uncle, Randy Romitti; a cousin, Chad Romitti; and many other great-aunts and great-uncles. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Fr. Paul Nomellini will officiate. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established to help children and families with mental illness.
