Allan A. Galeazzi

Allan Alexander Galeazzi, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on March 1, 2022, at the age of 90. Allan was born to the late Alexander and Marion (Caron) Galeazzi on February 2, 1932. Allan graduated from Kingsford High School in 1950 and enlisted in the United States Navy. Allan served on the USS Charles R Ware DD865 during the Korean War and was honorably discharged after four years of service. He married Phyllis Edlund on November 19, 1952 in Norway, MI. She preceded him in death in 2020 after 67 years of marriage. Allan and his wife Phyllis traveled across the country until they settled their roots in Simi Valley, CA. He and Phyllis would take many camping trips to Sequoia National Park, were members of the Golden K, loved dancing in the kitchen and most importantly, they enjoyed spending time with each other. After Allan retired from Hughes Aircraft in the late 80’s, he and Phyllis returned to the Iron Mountain area. Allan was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church of Iron Mountain. Allan is survived by his daughters Linda Galeazzi, Marcia Galeazzi-Reed, Patricia GaleazziBarnes, Nan Galeazzi, Jennifer (Dan) Anderson, grandchildren Christine (Andrew) Nordstrom, David (Cheryl) Davis, Katie (Dustin) Hickman, Kelly Reed, Stephanie (Logan) Ellis, Gabrielle Mathew, Maegan (Alex) Kemp, and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ed; sister, Madelyn Shiroda; sons-in-law, Allen Mathew & Wayne Reed, and his best four-legged companion, Chuckie. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Monday, June 13 at the First Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am at the church. Pastor Bryan Laurila will officiate. The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 will conduct military honors during the service. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
