Albert Bock

AURORA, Wis. - Albert A. Bock, 65, of Aurora, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 16, 2007, at the VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain. He was born Oct. 21, 1941, in Evanston, Ill., son of the late Albert and Margaret (Peterson) Bock. Al moved to Aurora in 1945 with his parents, and has been a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Kingsford High School in 1959. He served in the U. S. Army from 1964-1966. He was a member of the Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Men's Auxiliary Post 3674, and the Teamsters Union. Al retired from the Florence County Highway Department and also served as an emergency fire warden for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for more than 25 years. Al loved to sing and was a member of the Northernaires. He loved to play his piano-accordion and his squeeze box. He was also a talented artist and designed and painted many wooden cutouts, which he called his creatures. He is survived by his wife Betty; his children; Paul (Valerie) Bock of Elk River, Minn. and their children, Katie and Kenny; Eileen (Joe) Weslock of Howe, Ind. and their children, Cory, Renee, Brock, Brandon, and Brian; Bill (Cherish) Nelson of Niagara, Wis. and their children, Samantha, and Sarah Jean; Rena (Rod) Nelson of Niagara and their children, Ashley, Adam (Nickie), Jesse (Troy), Jamie and Barb; Mark (Lisa) Vorass of Jacksonville, Fla. and their children, Bryson and Tanner; and Jim Vorass of Bloomington, Ill. and his children, Kesha and Ben. He is also survived by one brother, Bob (Lee) Bock of Pulaski, Wis. and their children, Andy (Ann) Bock, Jeb Bock, and Mike (Kristie) Bock and their son Brady; one aunt, Nancy (Bob) Norris of Aurora; and many cousins. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Brad Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Homestead-Aurora Cemetery. Full military honors will follow the committal service at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeb, Andy, and Mike Bock, Mike, Brandon, and Kyle Youngs. Condolences to the family of Albert A.
