Adlore Nault

KINGSFORD - Adlore G. "Barney" Nault, 83, of Kingsford, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at Hyland Nursing Home in Iron Mountain. He was born May 10, 1926, in Iron Mountain, the son of the late John and Florence (McDowell) Nault. He was a lifelong resident of this area. He married Edith Hanson on Sept. 20, 1945, in Iron Mountain. They spent nearly 64 years together until Edith's death on Feb. 27 of this year. Barney attended Kingsford High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1945-1946. He was employed by the Iron Mountain Daily News for 41 years, retiring in 1989 as plant manager. He loved to travel and for 10 years the couple spent their winters in Silver Springs, Fla. His favorite pastime was taking a ride in his car and checking out all the new cars in the car lots. He also enjoyed trips down to the Ford Airport. He also enjoyed downhill skiing. On any given day you could find him sitting in his chair on his porch watching the cars go by. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great -grandchildren. Barney is survived by his children, Cindy (Gary) Steber of Florence, Wis. and Robert (Sheila) Nault of Kingsford; grandchildren, Laura (Tomas) Hemgren, Christopher (Jen) Steber, Daniel (Stacy) Steber, Roger Nault, and Robert Nault; great-grandchildren, Madelaine and Alexander Hemgren, Bradly Steber, and Carter Steber; and a sister, Alice Brault of Florida. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gilbert Brault. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Memorial services will be Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. David Anderson will officiate. The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 will conduct military services immediately following the memorial service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Commonwealth Cemetery.
