Marie A. Rock

October 1, 1924 - January 14, 2014

The angels took Marie into heaven on Tues. Jan. 14, 2014. A former resident of Loretto, Marie Rock died at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford. She was born on Oct. 1, 1924 in Felch, the
daughter of the late Carl and Julia (Johnson) Lund. Marie graduated from Felch High School in 1945 as co-valedictorian.

She married Arthur "Bucky" Bonetti in Sept. of 1946 in Loretto. He preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1962. She then married Vertin Rock on Nov. 18, 1970 in Las Vegas. He preceded her in death in October 25, 2001.

Marie was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She enjoyed tending to her many beautiful floral gardens, decorating her home in Loretto for every holiday, and bowling. She loved cooking all kinds of Italian food for her family. Marie was famous for her Italian Festival every Christmas Eve. A talented cake decorator, she decorated cakes for birthdays, baptisms, anniversaries, and small weddings. Marie enjoyed playing solitaire and Yahtzee with her family and fishing with Vertin. She taught herself to play the organ and piano by ear. Marie was very pleasant and kind. She will be remembered for always smiling.

Marie is survived by her children Judith (Michael) Janssen of Marquette and Jim (Jean Anne) Bonetti of Neenah, one stepdaughter Jane (Paul) Benedict of Royal Oak, three grandchildren Christina Janssen of Marquette, Brianna Bonetti of Appleton, and Melanie Bonetti of Milwaukee, two step grandchildren Nicole and Tiffany, one step great grandchild Joseph, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two step sons James and Gene Rock, four sisters Mae Blomquist, Gladys Willman, Hazel Hallanger, and June Seelund, and one brother Clarence Lund.

Visitation will be Fri. from 2-4pm at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4pm at the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Michael Langlais will officiate.

Burial will be in the Norway Township Cemetery.
